I am going to ask you a quick question, what do you think of when you hear that phrase, “ethnic minority”? What does ethnic minority even mean?  The dictionary defines ethnic minority – as a group that has different national or cultural traditions from the majority of the population.

Britain today is diverse with people of different races, cultures and religions interacting in a common social space. Some of us have been here for a long time while others have newly arrived. As all of us balance work and modern day stresses, we are faced with many challenges in; health, housing, social welfare, employment, immigration and a myriad of others!

Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum (SMEF) is a community organisation that seeks to serve ethnic minority communities living in Surrey and its surrounding borders. If you require information on health and social care, training, employment opportunities or an issue that you feel you are being discriminated against do contact us- if we cannot help you we can sign post you to where you can get help.

If you are not already a member, why not apply for membership and join our community.
