DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal

The Distasters Emergency Committee have launched this appeal to help fund life saving work in Pakistan in the aftermath of flooding triggered by the monsoon rains. The floodwaters have washed away millions of hectares of crops, submerged villages and destroyed roads and bridges. Disease is spreading among the victims. See the below appeal statement from DEC.

PAKISTAN FLOODS APPEAL

Over 1,600 people are reported to have died and 20 million people are believed to have been affected by the floods. In the aftermath there is now a serious risk to survivors from potentially deadly diseases, including cholera, which can spread as a result of contaminated surface and drinking water.

The money raised will help fund the life saving work in Pakistan of the DEC's Members which are the lead UK aid agencies and their partners.
