Health & Wellbeing at SMEF
Supporting the health and wellbeing of ethnic minority communities across Surrey
At SMEF, we believe good health is the foundation for thriving communities. Our health projects focus on equity, accessibility, and culturally relevant support. From autism services to counselling and community wellbeing, our work is co-produced with the communities we serve.
SMEF’s Health and Race Project empowers Surrey’s ethnic minority communities to take charge of their health. We focus on equity, equality and safety, providing education, resources and culturally tailored support so every community can access the care they need.
Funded by Public Health Surrey and Surrey Heartlands ICS, our project works on the wider determinants of health through proactive engagement and community-led solutions. Our goal is to build trust, co-design solutions and create interventions that are led by communities, for communities. We collaborate with partners across Surrey to deliver meaningful initiatives, including the following:

SMEF works in partnership with the NHS, local authorities and VCSE organisations to improve access and outcomes. We follow strict safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR procedures.
